Delete your account

This page is for the Cinefliq app, published by Vishal Arora, package name com.cinefliq.app. It explains how to delete your account and everything attached to it, what goes, what stays and why, and how long it takes. It works whether or not you still have the app installed.

If you still have the app

This is the fastest route and it needs nothing from us.

1. Open Cinefliq, go to the Profile tab and tap the gear icon to open Settings.
2. Under Delete your account, choose Delete account.
3. Type the word DELETE when asked, then tap Delete my account permanently. Typing the word exists so it cannot happen by accident.

It takes effect straight away. There is no email to send us, no waiting and no explanation required.

If you no longer have the app

Email [email protected] from the address you signed in with, and say that you want your account deleted. That is the whole request. You do not need to give a reason and we will not ask for one.

If you signed in with Google or Apple, use that same address. If you used Sign in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, you cannot write from the relay address, so write from any address and tell us your handle and the relay address shown for Cinefliq under Sign in with Apple in your iPhone's Settings. We will check the request with you before we delete anything.

If you cannot send email from that address any more, write to us anyway and tell us your handle. We will ask you something only the account holder would know before we delete anything, because a request we cannot check is a way for somebody else to delete your account.

What is deleted

Everything below goes, and it cannot be undone.

• Your account, and our record of your Google or Apple sign in if you used one.
• Every signed in session, on every device.
• Every swipe and every rating you have ever made.
• Your profile, your handle, your display name and your bio.
• The country and streaming services you saved, the people you blocked, and the favourite genres you picked when you set up your account.
• Every picture you uploaded. The app deletes them just before it deletes your account. If that step fails, your account is still deleted and a picture can be left in storage, so tell us and we will remove it.
• Who you follow and who follows you.
• Your notifications.
• Reports you made about other people.
• Your votes in any Decide together room, and any room you started, with everyone's votes in it.
• Any list you own, including titles other members added to it.
• Titles you added to lists you joined but do not own.

A list you own goes with your account, including titles other members added to it. A list cannot be passed to somebody else, so if a shared list matters to its members, tell them before you delete.

If you used the app as a guest and then signed in before 14 October 2026, a copy of those guest swipes may still sit in a separate guest record. Email us from your account's address and we will find and delete it.

What is not deleted, and why

• Lists you joined but do not own. They belong to whoever made them and they stay, without you and without the titles you added.
• Notifications your activity created for other people. A title you shared and any note you typed with it, or word that you followed somebody, joined their list or added a title to it, stays in their notifications without your name. A list of yours that you shared goes from their notifications along with the list.
• Reports other people made about you. They stay as a record of what was reported, without the link to your account. Anything the reporter wrote in one stays as they wrote it.
• Short lived request logs. Our database provider keeps logs of requests made to it, including your account id and IP address, for about a week, after which they expire on their own.
• Your Google or Apple account itself. Deleting Cinefliq does not change it. If you used Sign in with Apple, you can remove Cinefliq from the apps using your Apple ID in your iPhone's Settings.
• Routine database backups. Your data is removed from the live database immediately, but copies can survive in backups for a short time while those roll over. They are never read except to recover the whole database from a failure, and they are gone within thirty days.

How long it takes

• From inside the app: immediately.
• By email: within seven days. We will write back to confirm when it is done.
• Backups: within thirty days, as above.

If you never created an account

The app works without one, keeping your swipes against an anonymous guest record with no name. It holds no email address either, unless you started creating an account by email and did not confirm it. To delete it, open Settings in the app and tap Delete my data: the guest record and everything kept against it are deleted at once, along with the answers the app kept on your phone. A guest record is also deleted automatically, by a clean up that runs once a day: one that holds no swipes or ratings once it is 30 days old and unused for 30 days, and any other once nobody has used it for six months.
